Description
Ibirapitanga, in Tupi-Guarani, means "red wood" and gives its name to the Brazilwood tree, a symbol of the country and a living witness to our history. Along this trail, visitors have the opportunity to learn about different stages of the species, from seedlings and young individuals to centenary trees. During the journey, it is possible to find areas with a high concentration of Brazilwood and traces of ancient cuts, revealing marks of past exploitation. These records reinforce the importance of preservation and invite reflection on the conscious use of natural resources. The Ibirapitanga Trail invites visitors to encounter the "red giant," a symbol of resistance, memory, and national identity. Walking along this path is to recognize the value of the forest, strengthen the sense of belonging, and commit to protecting this heritage for future generations.
