Description

The Cave of the Slaves is a relic of Cabo Frio. The cave, a little over 50 meters long and three meters high, is surrounded by legends. One of the most well-known, but historically unverified, is that it was opened during the Empire to be used as an ammunition depot. It later became a hiding place for enslaved people. Another legend states that the cave was opened for mineral prospecting.
