Trecho 4: Morro do Vigia

Description
Morro do Vigia, known in old documents as Morro do Vigia dos Ingleses, served as a lookout point, a location used by English privateers to watch the marine horizon in order to anticipate the arrival of Portuguese ships. The name is also associated with artisanal fishing practiced with canoes and nets, where the fishing lookout stays at the top of the hill watching the school of fish and guiding the fishermen at sea regarding the net casting, the direction of the school, and species. The hill offers a beautiful panoramic view of the entire stretch of Praia do Peró and Praia das Conchas, and it is connected to the mainland by a strip of sand that naturally separates these two beaches.
GuidelinesTips
STAY ALERT!!! The trail is considered moderate because it has sections with rocky drops and cliff areas. The stretch of rocky shore (left side) that forms natural pools is slippery and dangerous on days with swells and high seas. We recommend hiking only on the signposted path. This section has no lifeguards, and rescues are difficult to carry out. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY!
