Route

The trail starts at the end of the BR 485. The summit push is limited to 80 people per day, while the hike to the base of the Maciço is limited to 120 visitors. The route to the base is of moderate difficulty, while the route to the top is considered difficult. Up to the base, the signage is complete, but once you start the climb to the summit there are no more signs, which makes navigation harder. At the beginning of the hike you can visit the Cachoeira das Flores, reached by a side path off the trail. For those staying at the Abrigo Rebouças, the hike to the base is shorter, about 1 h to the base and another 1 h 30 min to the summit. The climb is over rocks and crevices, and technical climbing knowledge is required at some points.
