Description

The Bálsamo Circuit offers riders a peaceful, albeit extensive, ride through the area surrounding the Bálsamo Waterfall. Along the way, it is possible to see various ruins of São João Marcos, as well as enjoy beautiful landscapes, until reaching Fazenda Palmeira and the RPPN Alvorada de Itaverá, great stops for lunch and rest. On the way back, the Bálsamo Waterfall invites those who wish to cool off.

Tips

This attached trail begins at RJ-149, right where you leave the highway heading toward the Bálsamo Waterfall. To follow it, you need to access the dirt road. If visitors choose to go on horseback via the highway, the access point is 6.44 km from the entrance gate of the São João Marcos Archaeological and Environmental Park, and the risk level is considered high due to traffic on the highway.
