Description

This trail starts from the urban center of Macundu and has as its final destination the visitor center of the São João Marcos Archaeological and Environmental Park, passing by Ponte Bela along the way. The route requires attention and caution from cyclists due to many paved sections, particularly on Estrada do Macundu and especially on highway RJ-149. Note: The São João Marcos Archaeological and Environmental Park operates from Wednesday to Sunday, from 9 AM to 6 PM. It is not possible to traverse the section within the Park outside of these days and hours.

Tips

Exercise extreme caution on paved roads! Estrada do Macundu, although it has low vehicle traffic, is narrow and lacks a shoulder. RJ-149 carries high-speed vehicles and also has no shoulder. The park can also be accessed by car.
