Description

The largest cave in PETAR and one of the largest in the State of São Paulo, Santana Cave has over 9 km in length. However, visitation is only allowed in 495 meters, with entry and exit from the same location. The cave features walkways and wooden bridges, a sailor-type ladder, steps made of cement on the rocky floor, and handrails.

Route

Visits take place at the water table level, along a stretch of the Rio Roncador, and in an upper gallery, extremely rich in speleothems such as stalactites, stalagmites, curtains, travertine dams, flowstones, helictites, and other formations resembling an elephant's foot, a heart, an extraterrestrial, among other curiosities seen by visitors to this cave.
