Cachoeira das Cariocas
Description

Cachoeira das Cariocas (or Carioquinhas) is one of the most spectacular attractions of the Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park. The Rio Preto flows into two waterfalls that spread over 20 meters wide and feature several "steps" that allow visitors to climb up to the falls. It has a wide pool and many spots for sunbathing. The trail passes through typical Cerrado formations, such as clean, dirty, and rocky fields, allowing for distant views of some riparian forests and buriti palm groves. Just before reaching the waterfall, visitors also have the option to explore Canyons II, another famous attraction of the park. Photo by Vicente Leal E. Fernandez.
