Parque Natural Municipal Floresta do Baldeador

Description

Parque Natural Municipal Floresta do Baldeador was established by Municipal Law No. 3.639/2021. The protected area was created by recategorizing a significant fragment of APA dos Morros da Guanabara (formerly SIMAPA), and it is the first strictly protected area located entirely within the Região Norte of the municipality of Niterói. Its importance is tied to connectivity between protected areas, since the forest fragment extends into the municipality of São Gonçalo, where it connects to APA do Engenho Pequeno. In addition, its objectives include protecting natural and historical heritage and fostering environmental interpretation activities.
