Parque Nacional Marinho das Ilhas dos Currais protects the ecosystems of these islands, as well as the surrounding marine environments within its boundaries, thereby protecting nesting areas of several bird species and the habitat of marine species. For this reason, landing is prohibited, and access must be arranged through boat operators from the coast or dive operators accredited by ICMBio. The park is very popular for diving.
