Description
The Núcleo Itutinga-Pilões was created in 1977 by incorporating the former Reserva Estadual da Serra do Mar, Reserva de Rio Branco-Cubatão and Reserva de São Vicente into the Parque Estadual da Serra do Mar. Important rivers such as the Passareúva, the Pilões and the Cubatão, which supply water to 80% of the Baixada Santista and also to the source waters of the Billings reservoir, are preserved within the Núcleo. Many attractions, both natural and historical, are available to visitors.
