Parque Estadual Mananciais de Campos do Jordão
Campos do Jordão, São Paulo

Description
Created in 1993, the park is intended to protect the water sources coming from the headwaters of the Córrego do Coutinho and the Ribeirão das Perdizes (which feeds the Salto reservoir), in the municipality of Campos do Jordão. Located in the Atlantic Forest biome, the park, which was once responsible for about 70% of Campos do Jordão's water supply, contains mixed ombrophilous forest (araucaria forest) and upper montane ombrophilous forest. Besides its strategic role for the region's waters, by protecting part of the water sources found there, the protected area is important for the preservation of the vegetation.
