Formerly known as Bosque Municipal, it became Parque Estadual Águas da Prata in 2018, covering an area equivalent to 50 soccer fields. Its purpose is to protect the native fauna and flora and, especially, its springs, whose water has radioactive properties linked to the natural history of the region. Set in mountainous terrain, with stony surface soils and countless granite outcrops, at altitudes ranging from 840 to 1,060 m, its vegetation is predominantly Semideciduous Seasonal Forest (Atlantic Forest biome).
