Floresta Nacional de Assungui

Description
Officially created in 1968, it covers approximately 490 ha. It is located in Campo Largo/PR, in the district of Três Córregos, about 70 km from Curitiba. It has large areas of araucaria plantations, an endangered species, as well as areas of native forest, plus several rivers and springs within its boundaries, which makes it highly important for conservation. The Floresta Nacional de Assungui is managed by ICMBio, through the Núcleo de Gestão Integrada em Curitiba (NGI ICMBio Curitiba), an agency linked to the Ministério do Meio Ambiente. The FLONA's management is also supported by society through the Advisory Council, created in 2010. The FLONA de Assungui has a Management Plan approved in 2019. For more information about the Floresta Nacional de Assungui, visit the protected area's social media pages or contact the NGI ICMBio Curitiba team by e-mail: ngi.curitiba@icmbio.gov.br.
