Diamante do Norte, Paraná

Description
Covering 142,630 ha and created by State Decree 4389 (November 21, 1996), it protects one of the last significant examples of the lush Seasonal Semideciduous Forest. Here you can see notable species such as the enormous perobas and jequitibás, the Rio Paranapanema and other components of the local ecosystem. Through its vegetation, the protected area holds great scientific potential, as it retains distinctive features and a close resemblance to the original forest that once covered the entire northwestern region of Paraná. Access is via PR-182, heading toward the state of São Paulo, 5 km from the municipality of Diamante do Norte.
