Área de Proteção Ambiental do Leme lies within a military area and is home to Forte Duque de Caxias, at the top of Morro do Leme. The APA underwent a reforestation project begun in 1987, in which 11,000 seedlings of 90 native and exotic species were planted across about 4 hectares. Photo: Leo Araújo
