A little about the city
Armação dos Búzios, often called simply Búzios, is a town in the Região dos Lagos in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Famous for its natural beauty and vibrant nightlife, Búzios has become a prominent tourist destination for both Brazilians and international visitors. The town gained international fame in the 1960s, after a visit by French actress Brigitte Bardot. Since then, Búzios has transformed from a simple fishing village into a sophisticated getaway, full of boutiques, restaurants, bars, and charming guesthouses, while still keeping its rustic charm. With more than 20 beaches, Búzios offers an incredible variety of coastal settings, from the calm waters of Praia da Ferradura, ideal for families, to the rougher waves of Praia de Geribá, a favorite among surfers. Beyond the beaches, the town boasts lush nature, with trails and lookouts that offer panoramic views of the coastline.
